Holy Hell On A Stick!
I've neglected you, sweet LiveJournal. I've spent too long away from you, too many hours downloading fansubbed japamation and bootleg MST3k episodes, with naught a care for your feelings. Well, no more! It's a bold new era for Corman's Inferno, an era we're going to start with...
MOVIE REVIEWS!!!!!111!!!1!111!
The Incredibles: So this was pretty damn good. Brad Bird can always be counted on for a kickass animated project, and the Incredibles didn't dissapoint. I thought that the treatment of Syndrome in the movie was sort of odd, though. Why wouldn't super-intelligence be considered a superpower? The guy was smart enough to wipe out a good number of heroes without being discovered. Also:
CARS looks horrific. Anything with Larry the Cable Guy in it is automatically disqualified from the list of movies I'll watch.
Team America: World Police: Trey and Matt's grasp on politics isn't that great. But who cares? Puppet sex is fucking hilarious, the scenes of celebrity murder rocked, and shit being blown up with old school pyrotechnics is always great. Also, bonus points for that theme song. Fuck Yeah!
Shaun of the Dead: I originally caught a screening of this for free at the San Diego Comiccon, and I was able to get Simon Pegg's autograph. Some of the best characterization ever in a zombie movie + plenty of in-jokes and nods to Romero and Raimi + romantic comedy = Best zombie movie of the year (the DotD remake is a close second).
